TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ Amtech Systems Inc. (ASYS) on Thursday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $5.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Tempe, Arizona-based company said it had a loss of 40 cents. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were 7 cents per share.
The provider of equipment for solar panel and semiconductor makers posted revenue of $20.6 million in the period.
Amtech shares have increased 40% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $6.34, a drop of 14% in the last 12 months.
