GLENVIEW, Ill. (AP) _ Anixter International Inc. (AXE) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $47.6 million.

The Glenview, Illinois-based company said it had net income of $1.40 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $1.61 per share.

The maker of security products, wires and fasteners posted revenue of $2.18 billion in the period.

Anixter International shares have declined 17 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 28 percent in the last 12 months.
