DENVER (AP) _ Antero Resources Corp. (AR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $482.2 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Denver-based company said it had a loss of $1.61. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 2 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 11 cents per share.
The oil and natural gas producer posted revenue of $952.7 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.02 billion.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $340.1 million, or $1.11 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.41 billion.
In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $1.78. A year ago, they were trading at $9.27.
