A$AP Rocky to Remain in Custody for Another Week as Prosecutors Continue Assault Investigation

A$AP Rocky is not getting out of a Swedish jail just yet.

The Swedish Prosecution Office announced on Friday that the court is allowing them to keep the rapper locked up a little while longer while they continue the investigation into an alleged assault that took place earlier this month.

Prosecutor Daniel Suneson explained, "The Court decided that the artist will remain in custody until 25 July, because of the flight risk. This gives us time to complete the investigation."

The prosecutors have until 11:00 AM on that day to decide if they will charge A$AP.

As The Blast previously reported, A$AP was arrested in Sweden along with three other people after a fight on the streets that he claims started after a group of guys hit his bodyguard with a pair of headphones.

The rapper was arrested on allegations of assault, according to the Swedish Prosecution Office. A$AP was arrested at around 1:00 AM local time on Wednesday, July 3rd after he performed at the Smash hip-hop festival in Stockholm.

Authorities categorized him as a flight risk and he remains in custody.

A$AP posted a few videos of the confrontation that led to his arrest, where he appeared to be trying to play peacemaker.

He captioned one video, "SO A FEW DRUG ADDICTS ARE NOT MY FANS , WE DONT KNOW THESE GUYS AND WE DIDNT WANT TROUBLE , THEY FOLLOWED US FOR 4 BLOCKS , AND THEY WERE SLAPPING GIRLS BUTTS WHO PASSED , GIVE ME A BREAK."

In another video, A$AP can be seen trying to tell the guys who were allegedly following him to go one way so he and his friends can go another. The men can be heard arguing about a pair of headphones, which A$AP claims one of the guys used to hit his bodyguard.

Diddy, Justin Bieber and Meek Mill have joined forces hawking a petition online to free A$AP Rocky from prison in Sweden.

"Stand in support and request Rocky’s release from Swedish officials! Sign the petition and join the movement at change.org/JusticeForRocky - EVERYONE REPOST THIS NOW!!!!!!" Diddy demanded on Tuesday night.

"We’re with you bro @asaprocky go sign this petition!!" Bieber wrote.

Meek jumped on the bandwagon, showing support for the fellow rapper.
