NEW YORK (AP) _ Apollo Investment Corp. (AINV) on Wednesday reported a fiscal third-quarter loss of $1.2 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The New York-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, were 45 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 46 cents per share.
The investment company posted revenue of $64 million in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $65.1 million.
Apollo Investment shares have increased 25 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $15.48, a decline of 5 percent in the last 12 months.
