The New York-based company said it had net income of 46 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to 47 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 45 cents per share.
The investment company posted revenue of $61.4 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $63.8 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $71.9 million, or $1.02 per share. Revenue was reported as $255.1 million.
Apollo Investment shares have risen 27% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $15.73, a decrease of 6% in the last 12 months.
