Changes afoot at Walmart
Walmart (WMT) is gearing up for a couple of major changes to its stores. The retailer is reportedly aiming to cut down on the number of products it sells in its supercenters. The world's largest retailer also plans to reduce the height of shelves near the checkout area by a foot, so that customers can see the entire store when they enter.
REI shutting down for Black Friday
Black Friday, one retailer wants you spending time outside, rather than spending money at its stores. Outdoor and sporting goods retailer REI is closing its doors on the shopping holiday, and encouraging would-be customers to go outside. REI will give its employees the day off with pay.
