Apple settles EU e-book case

The consumer electronics giant and publishers CBS Corp.'s (CBS) Simon & Schuster, News Corp. (NWSA) unit HarperCollins, and the Macmillan Group have agreed to ease e-book pricing restrictions on Amazon (AMZN) and others to end an EU antitrust probe. Apple (AAPL) and the publishers agreed to let retailers set prices for 2 years. The deal could pave the way for a similar U.S. pact. Apple fell 1.7% to 529.69.
