Ardagh Group: 1Q Earnings Snapshot

LUXEMBOURG (AP) _ Ardagh Group SA (ARD) on Friday reported first-quarter net income of $13 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Luxembourg-based company said it had net income of 6 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and non-recurring costs, came to 35 cents per share.

The packaging company posted revenue of $2.22 billion in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.17 billion.

Ardagh Group shares have increased 22 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 27 percent in the last 12 months.
