PRESCOTT, Ark. (AP) -- A roofing products company in Prescott, Ark. is marking the completion of a $36 million expansion and the addition of 100 new jobs.
Firestone Building Products Co. on Monday said the plant is now the largest of its kind anywhere.
In 2011, the company announced it would close a factory in Kingtree, S.C., and move those jobs to the expanded Prescott plant.
The Firestone plant has been open in Prescott for more than 40 years and has been producing EPDM roofing materials there since 1984.
Firestone added 52,500 square feet to the facility and replaced equipment, which will help the plant save energy costs and reduce waste.
Gov. Mike Beebe praised the Firestone plant workforce for playing a role in keeping the factory open.
