The 2019 Ashes is now three Tests in and after England's incredible win at Headingley, things are nicely poised at 1-1.

After a week's break, back to back Tests at Old Trafford and the Oval bring about a conclusion to the latest chapter in cricket's oldest rivalry.

Here is our guide to the fixture dates, TV coverage and more for this series of the Ashes.

Which dates are the fixtures?

  • First Test - Australia won by 251 runs

  • Second Test - Draw

  • Third Test - England won by one wicket.

  • Fourth Test - September 4-8 (Old Trafford)

  • Fifth Test - September 12-16 (The Oval)

What time will they start?

Subject to weather, play will begin at 11am BST each day during each of the five Test matches.

What happened in the third Test?

Ben Stokes produced his second 'once-in-a-lifetime' performance of the summer as his magnificent century powered England to an unprecedented, unthinkable one-wicket victory at Headingley to keep the Ashes alive.

Stokes hit 135 not out, channelled the spirit of Sir Ian Botham in 1981 and even eclipsed his match-winning turn in the World Cup final, to lead England to their record chase of 359.

Anything less and Australia would have retained the urn at 2-0 with two to play but what transpired was simply one of the most incredible roars of defiance ever seen on a cricket field, as he led last man Jack Leach in an unbroken stand of 76 for the final wicket.

Stokes hit eight sixes and 11 fours as he instantly laid claim to one of the greatest innings of all time, while Leach's solitary run was the one that levelled the scores.

What is each team's record?

Almost level, but not quite. Out of the 70 Test series so far, Australia have won 33 and England 32, with five draws.

There is a slightly wider margin when it comes to Tests, however. Out of 331 that have been played, Australia have won 135 to England's 106, with 90 draws.

What are the latest series odds?

  • England to win - 6/4

  • Australia to win - 5/2

  • Draw - 2/1

What is our prediction?

Before the start of the series, you'd have put your money on England and home advantage. But then Australia stormed fortress Edgbaston - aided by injury to James Anderson and Steve Smith's brilliance - before a tense draw at Lord's. But Stokes' heroics, the momentum is back with England.
