Did Ashley Graham just pull off the most body positive swimsuit photo ever?

Ashley Graham continues to shift stereotypes with her latest swimsuit photo shoot.

On Sunday, Graham shared a pic of herself in a suit that’s upcoming in her own line, Swimsuits for All, making sure that all three of the photos’ angles showed off her cellulite. The photo had a simple caption: “New suit — who dis? Drops in May.”

But the picture itself is a confirmation of Graham’s commitment to body positivity and a subtle reinforcement of the motto “Every body is a bikini body.”

In the comments sections, fans admired the new suit design and praised Graham for her authenticity. “You’re so empowering! Thank you for being so real,” wrote in one commenter. “really did need this,” agreed another. The picture is also doing its job of selling swimsuits, thanks to another fan who wrote in “Holy shit batman. Where can I buy this suit? It’s absolutely beautiful.”

Graham often shares photos that feature her cellulite — a purposeful choice to empower other women to bare their own.

She cited “when I took a photo of my cellulite and posted it on Instagram” as her favorite moment on social media in 2017. “I don’t think that other women should be afraid of theirs as well,” she said. Graham also scoffs at the idea that she should be embarrassed about any aspect of her body. “No, it’s my body, it’s my lumps and bumps,” she said. “I’m into it, my husband doesn’t care, and neither should the world.”

Last year, Graham shared a close-up of her cellulite with the caption: “I work out. I do my best to eat well. I love the skin I’m in. And I’m not ashamed of a few lumps, bumps or cellulite … and you shouldn’t be either.” Her honesty inspired at least one fan, who wrote, “That’s it … I’m wearing a 2-piece in Hawaii” in the comments.

Graham even worked to get cellulite in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

In addition to making bathing suits accessible and fun for all, Graham is tackling the lingerie industry. She recently partnered with Addition Elle to launch a line of plus-size lingerie. With a slogan of “#IAmSizeSexy,” the brand is attempting to keep body positivity at the forefront of clothes in sizes 34DD to 44DD and 0X to 3X. What will she disrupt next?
