MASON, Ohio (AP) _ AtriCure Inc. (ATRC) on Thursday reported a loss of $5.6 million in its first quarter.
The Mason, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 20 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 24 cents per share.
The medical device maker posted revenue of $54 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $52.2 million.
AtriCure expects full-year revenue in the range of $222 million to $228 million.
AtriCure shares have declined nearly 8 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $28.17, an increase of 38 percent in the last 12 months.
