AudioEye Ally Toolbar to Provide Enhanced Accessibility and Usability for High-Traffic Federal Agency Website Visitors
TUCSON, Ariz., Oct. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AudioEye, Inc. (AEYE) ("AudioEye" or the "Company") today announced that they, in partnership with Global TechPro, LLC, were selected by a large federal agency to provide web usability tools for their public-facing website. The site, which experiences average monthly visits between 12.9 and 22 million, is also accessed by more than 65,000 federal employees.
The site, which is compliant with ADA-related accessibility requirements, serves a population well over the total average age of the Internet by double, for adults 55 – 64 and 75+. Through the contract, AudioEye will embed and manage the Ally Toolbar, a set of web tools that allow site visitors to customize their experience in a manner that is more conducive to the effective consumption of digital information.
Through an exhaustive vetting and selection process, the agency evaluated solutions that would assist site visitors who experience everyday challenges such as low vision, hearing loss, dyslexia, epilepsy and color-blindness, all which can result in added difficulty in seeing, hearing, reading, comprehending English and/or reading online content. Key to the awarding of the contract, was that the solution be secure, cloud-based, addressing the requirements of a range of abilities, while supporting thousands of concurrent users, and would not require any changes to the site content.
"Given that 64% of the U.S. population 65+ are active Internet users and more than 6% have a visual disability, makes a strong single case for the need to improve usability of public sites," said AudioEye CEO, Todd Bankofier. "However, that is only one demographic for which our tool will enhance the experience. Many levels of cognitive disabilities can be addressed as well as those that impact mobility, hearing or vision. This is a great step towards even greater inclusivity."
The Ally Toolbar, a proprietary assistive tool, will be placed directly on the site, allowing users to customize and enhance their experience. The Ally Toolbar was developed with considerations including dyslexic fonts, adjustments to color contrast, font size and navigation, keyboard controls, a player that will read visitors content and the ability to use voice commands to navigate. "It is a game-changing tool that addresses the range of challenges that can inhibit a website visitor's ability to fully interact with and consume digital content. We are proud to serve an organization that impacts so many," said Mr. Bankofier.
"As a professional IT services firm, we value innovation, we also value the mission of making digital content more accessible and usable to those with a wide range of abilities," said Aun Mohammad, Executive Vice President of Global TechPro, LLC, a Washington Metro area-based professional IT services firm. "This is an opportunity to work with a leader in the digital accessibility space while serving an important function of a key federal agency," added Mr. Mohammad.
AudioEye, Inc. is participating as an exhibitor at HR Tech 2017 at The Venetian Hotel and Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The conference and expo, brings together innovative and functional technology designed to improve the field of human resources, a cornerstone of every industry. In addition to participating as an exhibitor, AudioEye solutions will be featured by HR-industry leader ADP.
"The understanding this federal agency possesses of the need to go beyond accessibility to enhance usability to accommodate for a range of abilities, is far ahead of most organizations," said Dan Sullivan, AudioEye Vice President of Sales, who has led the Company's partnership with HR-industry leader ADP. "The HR industry will be key in driving the realization that 'disability' is much bigger than most might think. Unfortunately, historically, the push has been for an all-or-nothing approach to accessibility which can be daunting. We're participating in the HR industry because we believe that accessibility and usability for equal access should begin at the most basic level of an organization, with their recruiting process. If a company's website is not accessible to the full range of the population, they cannot be offering equal employment opportunity.
"When you have a key federal agency, that is already compliant with ADA-related accessibility requirements, yet has the forethought to act on making usability for a much larger population a priority, it is encouraging."
AudioEye will participate in the expo through Thursday, October 12, 2017 and will be located in booth 3538. ADP, which is located in booth 1625, will be showcasing AudioEye solutions.
