The Victoria, British Columbia-based company said it had a loss of 17 cents per share.
The biotechnology company posted revenue of $29,000 in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $53,000.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $64.1 million, or 76 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $463,000.
Aurinia shares have decreased nearly 6 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $6.43, an increase of 12 percent in the last 12 months.
