Auto parts maker locating plant in Kentucky

FULTON, Ky. (AP) -- A new plant in Fulton in western Kentucky will bring 121 jobs on an investment of more than $17.5 million.

Gov. Steve Beshear was in Fulton on Friday to make the announcement with local officials and representatives from A. Kayser Automotive Systems USA, a subsidiary of Germany-based A Kayer Automotive Systems GmbH.

Beshear's office says the plant will be Kayser's first in the U.S.

The company has nearly 1,800 employees and eight international production sites producing modules and ready-to-install systems for makers of original automobile equipment and suppliers in America, Asia and Europe. The company intends to modify a building in Fulton, where it will make, assemble and test metal and plastic components and assemblies.

The state has preliminarily approved tax incentives up to $3 million.
