What do we love about autumn? The saturated colors, comfort foods (an animal instinct to fuel up in order to survive cold weather), seasonal roots and vegetables. Would you add pizza to the list? Well, you ought to, since #autumnpizzas are a thing! How do you make one? Take every food you associate with autumn: apples, pumpkins, squash, nuts, seeds, beans, and put them on a pizza. Easy.

Pumpkin and frizzled sage, whatever that is, looks delicious

Dinner tonight was Autumn Pizza!! The perfect fall combo of pumpkin, mozzarella, turkey sausage, fresh rosemary and frizzled sage! . . . I took a @flatoutbread thin crust rosemary and olive oil artisan pizza crust (3sp) and baked it for 2 mins at 375°. I topped it with about 1/2 cup of pumpkin purée (0sp), 1/4 cup @jimmydean crumbled turkey sausage (1sp), 2oz @belgioiosocheese fresh mozzarella pearls (5sp), sliced in half, and returned it to the oven to continue baking until the cheese had melted. Meanwhile, I heated 1 Tbs of olive oil in a pan. Once it was hot and bubbling, I added 4 fresh sage leaves and quickly fried them until they were crispy. When the pizza was done, I topped it with the fresh rosemary and frizzled sage leaves (which I may or may not need to count 4 points for because of the oil.....but I went with not )
