Average Ticket Prices for Each NBA Team

Attending an NBA game is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the world’s greatest athletes. While other sports require players to wear face masks, use barriers to protect fans or play on a surface so large that it keeps star athletes far away from those cheering them on in the stands, basketball puts fans so close to the experience that the best seats leave you with the distinct possibility of getting your favorite player’s sweat sprayed in your face when he dives for a loose ball.

However, as grand as the live experience of an NBA game can be, plenty of people just don’t get the chance to go to one. Why? Because ticket prices these days can make fans feel that they need to be making as much money as the players to afford anything other than nosebleed seats. But, depending on your favorite team and the dynamics of its secondary ticket market, you might end up shelling out much less — or much more.

That’s why GOBankingRates dug into the data provided by TicketIQ to give a clearer picture of how your favorite team fits into the current market. TicketIQ’s data looked at sites like StubHub to determine the average price of a ticket to see your favorite team — and the results show that you’ll need to fork over nearly four times as much money to catch the priciest team as opposed to the cheapest. So, are you among the lucky fans who can afford to watch NBA games this year without breaking the bank?
