From Cosmopolitan

Because she's been there and done that, literally, former Bachelor contestant/tear fountain Ashley Iaconetti is recapping this season of The Bachelorette for Cosmopolitan. With insider insight as well as a clear eye for what's going down both in front of and behind the cameras, read on for her thoughts.

This post contains spoilers for last night's episode of The Bachelorette.

First on the discussion agenda…Luke P. and his premature admission of love.

I believe in love at first sight, because I experienced it with Jared, but even as emotional as I was in the days that preceded that first encounter, I didn’t say it. I think you need to give love at first sight time to prove itself. Time to prove it’s not lust. Could you imagine if Hannah and Luke were two hours into a first date outside the Bachelor Bubble and he said, “I’m starting to fall in love with you.” Nothing would make a girl run faster. That would be so creepy.

It was even more cringe-y because he used his declaration as a replacement for a talent during the Mr. Right competition. Having strong emotions and expressing them are qualities Hannah wants to find in a man, but using words as a mechanism to steal the show and get ahead is just not okay. I was slightly concerned when Hannah swooned so hard over Luke’s confession. It came across as naive. She said words are important for her and she wants them to be true.

My advice to Hannah is to make sure that his actions match up to his words. I’m a words-of-affirmation girl when it comes to love languages too, so I get being smitten with words, but she’s got to realize she should keep her guard up with a guy that’s THIS bold this soon.

At the end of the episode, Luke snuck into Hannah’s interview room. I’m pretty certain he didn’t come up with this intrusion idea on his own. I appreciated that Hannah said at this point that part of her was concerned he said “I’m starting to fall in love with you” in the spirit of competition. He assures her everything he says is true, just the way he probably did with the 100+ girls he slept with in college.

Everything about Luke in this episode “wasn’t really appealing” as Jed said. He ended up shirtless at the end-of-the-week cocktail party on Hannah’s orders. She just couldn’t help herself after he gave her a massage. Hannah’s hormones were raging as she called her time with Luke “thrilling.” (This interview clip they kept airing made me giggle.) She calls Luke her dessert and even led on that she’d be okay skipping the main course (the other guys) in order to get to Luke. I see this situation between the two of them burning hot and then out. It’s only a matter of, oh, one more episode, before the guys start warning Hannah about him.

Jed couldn’t have handled walking into this handsy makeout session with more class than he did. After calling it unappealing, he walked away and later made a cute joke about how many men were after Hannah. Jed is absolutely the most appealing man as of now on the show in my personal opinion. I find him to be a more laid back, country version of Justin Timberlake. On a special in-depth episode of the Almost Famous podcast (out later this week), Hannah hints that she was very upset with producers after the walk-in moment. If my instincts are good, I would assume that this might have contributed to Hannah’s tears before the rose ceremony.

Cam started to lose it this week. After being one of three guys who didn’t get a date this week, Cam decided to crash the second group date. Part of me was like, eh, Luke P. probably would have been able to make this crashing seem romantic and charming to Hannah. Cam isn’t the kind of personality that can pull this stunt off. He’s just too neurotic seeming for it. Obviously this move will never go over well with the other men that were invited on the date. Three of the guys were shown giving him a talking-to.

Cam wasn’t just being proactive when he pulled Hannah AND Kevin aside on at the pre-rose cocktail party, he was straight up rude. He interrupted Kevin’s time after he stole his time at the date. THEN, Cam brought Kevin into his private time with Hannah just to box him out of the conversation and not acknowledge his presence at all. However, I must say, it’s hard to dislike a guy after he brought McNuggets and presented honey mustard in a ring box. He would get a few more roses down the line for me after that move. But then, his personal catch phrase, “A-B-C. Always Be Cam” would just cancel them all out.

Tyler G. looks a bit like my fiancé and Tim Tebow had a baby. He definitely flew under the radar on night one and in the ABC promo photos. He’s handsome and has a nice demeanor. We learned way more about Hannah on their date than about him though.

This week’s honorable mention moments go to Dustin for his sweetness, Mike for calling out Luke on his BS, and John Paul Jones for simply being John Paul Jones. Connor J., Daron, and Matt were sent packing this week and I feel bad that I have no idea who they were.
