'The Bachelorette's' Mike Johnson Just Confirmed He Went On a Date With Demi Lovato
Mike Johnson from The Bachelorette just confirmed that he and singer Demi Lovato did, in fact, go on a date.
The confirmation comes after months of potential romance rumors, sparked by the pair flirting on social media.
Mike's ex, former Bachelorette Hannah Brown, may even have set him and Demi up.
Ever since Mike Johnson was sent home on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette, romantic rumors have been swirling around him and singer Demi Lovato. The latest speculation is that, after months of flirting on social media, the reality star and pop star went on a date. Well, Mike just set the record straight, confirming that, as they say in Bachelor Nation, this "one-on-one" definitely happened.
On Wednesday, Mike told Entertainment Tonight that he and Demi have been talking. Not only that, but he kinda-sorta-totally gushed about how great she is. "Demi Lovato and I went on a date," he told the publication. "The woman is quite astounding and amazing. And that’s all I’ll say on that."
Well, that wasn’t all Mike said, since he opened up a little more after that. "I think she’s amazing. She’s incredibly humble," he added. "When Demi and I are together, it’s laughter and we talk about real sh*t. Like, she’s a down-to-Earth woman and I respect it so much. And she’s just a really humble, really cool, really fun, down-to-Earth person."
Still, Mike kept mostly mum on the current stage of the pair's romance (sigh). "My status of the relationship with Demi and I are that we are two people exploring each other," he said.
Rumors about these two dating first began earlier this month after they were seen together at the Beverly Hills restaurant LaScala.
Demi definitely got things started. "Mike, I accept your rose," she wrote on Instagram Stories back in July, per a fan's screenshot.

"He always picks [Bachelorette Hannah Brown] up and swings her when he hugs her," she wrote another time. "Swing me."
Hannah eventually cut Mike loose, and he went on Twitter afterward to point out that he’s still looking for love. “Girl you ready for smiles, adventure, comfort, growth, honesty, laughter, me falling using my inhaler and kissing your stretch marks and imperfections. Where U hiding?” he wrote.

“I’m right here, Mike. I’m right here, boo. My mom already loves you too,” Demi responded on Instagram, according to a fan's screenshot.

So, yeah, Demi is definitely into the Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise alum and has been for a while now. Mike also previously told Us Weekly that he would be down with going on a date with Demi. “I’m flirting with her too. 'Tell her, ‘What’s up, baby?’” he said. “I would definitely take her out for an initial date, yeah. 100 percent not scared about it at all. I would be like, ‘Oh my God! Girl, come here.’”
Rumor has it, Hannah might have actually set Mike and Demi up. After all, Demi did attend part two of The Bachelorette finale, and she and Hannah ate windmill cookies together.

After the Season 28 premiere of Dancing with the Stars, on which Hannah is competing, Us Weekly asked Hannah if she had anything to do with Mike and Demi being flirty on social media. “What?! Well, uh…” Hannah responded. "Mike and I still have a great relationship, and Demi has been so supportive of me. So, I mean, they’re both great humans, and if they’re into each other, then that’s great.”
Mike was also recently passed over as the next Bachelor, so he’s definitely available... well, at least for now.
