The Backstreet Boys are unquestionably more men than boys these days. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t still got the chops to release new music, as evidenced by their first single in five years, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” which dropped Thursday.

The last we heard of the Boys was 2013’s full-length In a World Like This. The new tune, which comes a month after the group’s 25th anniversary and ahead of what will be their ninth studio album, is a ’90s-tinged jam accompanied by a sleekly choreographed video showing off some of their smoothest dance moves yet (yes, we mean in their entire history).

The song was recorded after the first leg of the band’s most recent 26-show Las Vegas residency, “Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life,” which has been renewed with dates starting in July and running through November.

Predictably, the song has rocketed up the charts faster than one could say “Backstreet’s back,” and fans are raving over it on social media. Many took the time to brag about having been fans from the very beginning and never having lost their love for the group.

In addition to their residency in Vegas, the Backstreet Boys have been busy forging ahead with other musical paths — including a No. 1 country radio hit collaboration with Florida Georgia Line (“God, Your Mama, and Me”). The group’s new album will come as part of their new recording deal with RCA Records, having parted ways with longtime label Jive back in 2010.
