The Milwaukee-based company said it had net income of 37 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.
The manufacturer of products that measure gas and water flow posted revenue of $104.9 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $111.4 million.
Badger Meter shares have climbed 18 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 27 percent in the last 12 months.
