MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Badger Meter Inc. (BMI) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $6.2 million.
The Milwaukee-based company said it had profit of 21 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 42 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 40 cents per share.
The manufacturer of products that measure gas and water flow posted revenue of $113.6 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $111.4 million.
Badger Meter shares have decreased roughly 2 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $47, an increase of 15 percent in the last 12 months.
