Banamex sale likely to be signed early next year

By Carolina Mandl

NEW YORK, June 24 (Reuters) - Citigroup Latin America Chief Executive Officer Ernesto Torres Cantu said the sale of Citibanamex, the bank's Mexican consumer banking arm, is likely to be signed in January 2023.

Cantu at a conference for Latin American journalists said that after the deal signing, its conclusion should take between 12 and 15 months.

He added that the bank is engaged with potential buyers, but declined to provide more details about the stage of the sale process.
