Bank lending to companies in U.K. declines, WSJ reports

In the U.K., bank lending to companies declined last month, a result of the weak economy and as doubts rise about the prospects of the Bank of England and U.K. Treasury's program to increase the credit supply, reports the Wall Street Journal. The British Bankers' Association today showed lending to companies outside the financial sector fell by GBP 3.1B ($5B) in November, the biggest drop since June.
