VERDUN, Quebec (AP) _ BCE Inc. (BCE) on Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $637.8 million.
On a per-share basis, the Verdun, Quebec-based company said it had profit of 69 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 74 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 71 cents per share.
The Canada's largest telecommunications company posted revenue of $4.53 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.5 billion.
BCE expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.66 to $2.73 per share.
BCE shares have dropped 19 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 16 percent in the last 12 months.
