ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Belden Inc. (BDC) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $43.5 million.
On a per-share basis, the St. Louis-based company said it had profit of 87 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.66 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.63 per share.
The communications equipment company posted revenue of $655.4 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $663.1 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $160.9 million, or $3.08 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.59 billion.
For the current quarter ending in April, Belden expects its per-share earnings to range from 80 cents to $1.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $564 million to $594 million for the fiscal first quarter.
Belden expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.50 to $6.15 per share, with revenue ranging from $2.5 billion to $2.6 billion.
Belden shares have increased 35 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 23 percent in the last 12 months.
