COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI--(Marketwire - Jan 21, 2013) - Benefit Outsourcing Solutions, Inc. (BOS) has announced donations of over $6,600 to charities that support relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. BOS decided to support this cause due to the extreme devastation in New York City which is the original hometown of Laurence Gelman, President of BOS.
"Larry is very generous with his employees so we wanted to have a charity program in which the employees made personal donations but received a benefit as well," said Jennifer Jones, Chief Executive Officer. Salaried employees who donated at least the equivalent of 4 hours of their hourly rate were given 4 additional hours of paid time off. Hourly employees who donated the equivalent of 1 hour's pay were given a coupon for a free 15 minute on-site massage. Employees were allowed to donate to any non-profit charity which directly assisted victims of Hurricane Sandy. Although BOS matched up to 4 hours, many employees chose to give additional funds to their charity.
"We are so pleased and proud of our employees for giving back," said Jones. Employees donated to charities such as the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and Robin Hood Relief Fund for Hurricane Sandy. Benefit Outsourcing Solutions donated the company matching funds to the Hurricane Sandy Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City.
