  • Buckingham Research Group initiates coverage on Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) with a Buy rating and $170 price target implying 17 percent upside including dividend; Says stock underperformance since Q4 earnings present buying opportunity as co. is in early stages of expansion and is positioned to see over 30 percent EPS growth this year.

  • Tigress Research downgrades VeriFone Systems, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) from Buy to Neutral after co. entered into agreement with Francisco Partners to be acquired for 54 percent premium; Believes co. will not receive a higher offer during the “go shop” period expiring May 24.
