San Francisco, California--(Newsfile Corp. - May 18, 2021) - Berman Tabacco's California office has filed a class action lawsuit for violations of the federal securities laws against Canoo Inc. ("Canoo" or the "Company") (f/k/a Hennessy Capital Acquisition Corp. IV) (NASDAQ: GOEV) (NASDAQ: GOEVW), and certain of its current and former officers and directors, on behalf of persons and entities who purchased or otherwise acquired publicly traded Canoo common stock and/or warrants from August 18, 2020, through and including March 29, 2021 (the "Class Period").

A lawsuit was filed by Berman Tabacco in U.S. District Court in the Central District of California and asserts claims under Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, 15 U.S.C. §§78j(b) and 78t(a). The case is captioned Blake v. Canoo Inc., et al., No. 2:21-cv-02873. A copy of the complaint is available on the firm's website.

On May 17, 2021, the Company disclosed in a Form 10-Q filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission that "on April 29, 2021, the SEC's Division of Enforcement advised that it has opened an investigation related to, among other things, HCAC's initial public offering and merger with the Company, the Company's operations, business model, revenues, revenue strategy, customer agreements, earnings and other related topics, along with the recent departures of certain of the Company's officers."

If you wish to serve as Lead Plaintiff for the Class, you must file a motion to serve as Lead Plaintiff with the Court no later than June 1, 2021. Any member of the proposed Class may move the Court to serve as Lead Plaintiff through counsel of their choice, or may choose to do nothing and remain a member of the proposed Class.
