ServiceNow (0L5N.L) has been revealed as the UK’s best place to work in 2022, according to a new ranking by job and recruitment site Glassdoor.

The annual survey is based on anonymous employee reviews of several aspects of their workplace including career opportunities, compensation and benefits, culture and values, senior management diversity and inclusion, and work-life balance.

Employees at the software firm highlighted the company’s "fantastic culture, potential for opportunities and excellent training".

Digital strategies firm AND Digital came in at number two, followed last year's winner, cloud-based software company Salesforce (CRM), publishing house Immediate Media Company, and protein research tool developer Abcam (ABC.L).

Glassdoor’s 50 best places to work in 2022 list featured employers across a range of industries, with tech companies dominating the list with 19 entries, including seven in the top 10. Other industries represented include finance, manufacturing, travel & tourism, construction, media, retail, and restaurants.

On the list of the 50 best places to work in the UK, 25 of the businesses were new entries — six of which were among the top 10.

Newcomers include AND Digital, Indian restaurant chain Dishoom, financial technology company Wise (WISE.L), fitness chain The Gym Group (GYM.L) at number 25, fashion brand Oliver Bonas, sustainable energy provider Octopus Energy, and low-cost airline Jet2.com (JET2.L).

Eight employers re-entered the ranking in 2022 after dropping off the list including housebuilder Barratt Developments (BDEV.L), footwear retailer Schuh Limited, consumer goods corporation Procter & Gamble (PG) and consultancy Mott MacDonald.

Google (GOOG) came in at number eighteen and is the only employer to make the UK list every year since the rankings began. 2022 sees the tech giant enter Glassdoor's list of the 50 best places to work in the UK for the eighth year in a row.

Salesforce, Microsoft (MSFT), Google and German software corporation SAP (SAP) all appeared on the lists of the best places to work in the UK, France, Germany, the US, and Canada.

In 2022 the survey included employers' diversity and inclusion rating for the first time.

“The world of work is rapidly evolving, fueled by the pandemic and now millions of workers reevaluating their expectations of employers," said Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor CEO.

"This year’s best places to work winners are leading the way by listening and responding to employee feedback and reimagining the employee experience to truly put their people first.”

“It’s inspiring to see these employers step up during the pandemic to expand and grow company cultures where employees feel supported and valued in and out of work."
