Saturdays and Sundays have a specific theme, like Wild West weekend featuring a stunt roper or antique tractor weekend featuring dozens of old tractors on display. There are also animal shows and live entertainment each weekend.

This farm stand in Mission Hills hosts a fall harvest festival every year with plenty of pumpkins. Even though this year the pumpkin patch will not be featuring the usual petting zoo and pony ride, there is a four-acre corn maze and train ride worth checking out for an additional $20. Admission is $5 and will be applied to a pumpkin purchase.

8. Pa’s Pumpkin Patch

Pa’s Pumpkin Patch is throwing a whole carnival down in Long Beach, as they’ve been doing for more than 40 years. In addition to pumpkins, the patch will feature more than half a dozen attractions including pony rides, a petting zoo and carnival games for guests to enjoy. There will be BBQ and funnel cakes for purchase at the snack bar. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Pumpkin City’s Pumpkin Farm has grown into one of the largest fall harvest festivals with plenty to do for kids and those young at heart. Although Pumpkin City is not opening the Anaheim location this year, the larger one at Laguna Hills mall is still going strong and offers amusement park style rides, a petting zoo, puppet theater and carnival games. If you plan to do a lot of rides, we recommend getting one of the ticket packages for some savings.

This one is a bit far from Los Angeles, but it’s a good excuse to get away and take a day trip up to the mountains. Skypark’s Santa Village is celebrating fall harvest with a pumpkin patch every weekend from October 9 to 31 along with a slew of activities and entertainment from trick-or-treating, a puppet show and more. To make the drive out more worthwhile, there’s also a lineup of events from haunted forest to a costume skate party.

11. Cal Poly Pumpkin Festival

This annual pumpkin festival is hosted by the College of Agriculture at Cal Poly Pomona, and they grow all of the 40,000 pumpkins available at the festival as well as the corn mazes and sunflower field. They will also have a petting farm, hay wagon rides and a marketplace filled with craft and food vendors. Since this is the college’s outreach program, there will also be educational demonstrations and displays from beekeeping to antique tractors.
