‘Big Brother’ Tops Ratings Amid Thursday NFL Preemptions, ‘Elementary’ Ends Run Even – Update

UPDATED with final numbers: CBS’ Big Brother (1.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, 4.18 million total viewers) was Thursday’s top-rated and most-watched show in a primetime that saw several local preemptions for NFL preseason football games. Many shows were adjusted down in the final ratings after preliminary inflations. (See the new final chart below.)

CBS was the night’s most watched network thanks to BB, even in the demo and up in viewers compared with last week, and the series finale of Elementary, which followed the same trajectory. The net also tied with Fox for the top spot in the demo.

Fox offered up fresh episodes of MasterChef (0.7, 3.00M) at 8 PM, followed by Spin the Wheel (0.5, 2.07M). Both were even with last week’s final numbers in the demo.

ABC’s lineup featured a new Holey Moley (0.5, 2.39M) and the season finale of Family Food Fight (0.3, 1.58M), both at par, as was Reef Break (0.2, 1.77M). The CW went with new episodes of The Outpost (0.1, 600,000) and Two Sentence Horror Stories (0.1, 0.48M) which were steady.
