Big federal contract boosts McKesson

Deal Estimated at $31 Billion

McKesson won a Veterans Affairs contract valued at more than $31 billion. The two-year agreement calls for McKesson to supply all the VA's medical centers and outpatient clinics, as well as the VA's Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacies. MCK climbs almost 5 percent before the bell.

Avid Revenue Misses the Mark

Avid Technology had first-quarter revenue of $152 million, according to a preliminary release. The consensus estimate was for $161 million, and AVID is plunging 17 percent on my tradeMONSTER platform in premarket trade.

Shell Drops on Potential Oil Spill

Royal Dutch Shell is down on news of a potential oil spill between the company's Mars and Ursa production areas in the Gulf of Mexico.  Management is reportedly working to respond, but RDS.A is still down by 4 percent in the pre.

Tractor Supply Crushes Estimates

Tractor Supply issued bullish preliminary results for the first quarter. Earnings will be $0.53 to $0.55, way above the $0.32 average analyst forecast. It also raised full-year guidance. TSCO is up almost 5 percent before the bell.
