RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) _ BioDelivery Sciences International Inc. (BDSI) on Thursday reported a loss of $11.1 million in its second quarter.
The Raleigh, North Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 13 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 6 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 6 cents per share.
The specialty pharmaceutical company posted revenue of $29.7 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $25.3 million.
BioDelivery expects full-year revenue in the range of $101 million to $105 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $4.03. A year ago, they were trading at $2.90.
