On a per-share basis, the Raleigh, North Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of 10 cents per share.
The specialty pharmaceutical company posted revenue of $18 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $16.2 million.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $33.9 million, or 73 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $55.6 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $4.60. A year ago, they were trading at $2.20.
