Chargers wide receiver Geremy Davis, running back Justin Jackson and the Charger Girls to meet the students and support necessary cause
LOS ANGELES, March 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- BIOLASE, Inc. (BIOL), the global leader in dental lasers, TeamSmile, the nation's premier advocacy group that supports life-changing dental care for underserved children, and the Los Angeles Chargers will be hosting an oral health fair in which nearly 300 students throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District will be given free access to advanced dental care. The event will take place on Friday, April 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with special appearances by WR Geremy Davis, RB Justin Jackson, and the Charger Girls.
This event is part of a greater series of events that BIOLASE has hosted with TeamSmile in an effort to educate families on a more advanced, less invasive dentistry through the use of Waterlase dental lasers. The oral health fair will give children the opportunity to not only receive free screenings, preventive care, radiographs and laser treatments onsite, but will also demonstrate to the children that dental procedures no longer have to be painful or scary.
"These events, which we've coined as 'TeamSmile tailgate parties', have created a fun and exciting environment for children to learn about all the ways they can take oral healthcare into their own hands and create healthy habits as they grow into adulthood," said TeamSmile Executive Director, John McCarthy. "We've had the pleasure of partnering with BIOLASE on several of these events and had the opportunity to witness countless children be pleasantly surprised when undergoing a dental laser treatment with complete comfort."
The organizations have co-hosted several of these events since they launched their partnership in 2018. They plan to continue partnering together on additional initiatives in the future.
"TeamSmile and the Chargers have been invaluable partners as we work towards educating children and families about better oral health habits," said BIOLASE CEO Todd Norbe. "Our unique Waterlase, Laser Dental Technology continues to advance dentistry by replacing many of the invasive dental procedures with gentler, more comfortable procedures."
The event will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park, 18400 S. Avalon Blvd., Carson, Calif., 90746. For more information, please visit http://teamsmile.org/.
