Black Hills: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) _ Black Hills Corp. (BKH) on Monday reported second-quarter earnings of $21.9 million.

The Rapid City, South Dakota-based company said it had profit of 40 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were 45 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 41 cents per share.

The energy company posted revenue of $355.7 million in the period.

Black Hills shares have decreased slightly since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $60.10, a decline of 14 percent in the last 12 months.
