RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) _ Black Hills Corp. (BKH) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $86.6 million.
On a per-share basis, the Rapid City, South Dakota-based company said it had net income of $1.49. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains, were $1.05 per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 92 cents per share.
The energy company posted revenue of $501.2 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $258.4 million, or $4.66 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.75 billion.
Black Hills shares have climbed 8 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $67.92, a climb of 31 percent in the last 12 months.
