Speaking to Digital Spy and other press at Comic-Con, star Christine Adams reflected on the season two finale that saw Markovia set to invade Freeland, and that nation of metahumans could lead to none other than the Outsiders.
"I think the Markovians kind of open the door, probably, to the Outsiders. Probably. That's what I'm feeling," she said.

"That's because that feels like the direction we're going to go in. I don't know how long it's gonna take, it might be two seasons before we even get there, but that door is open, right?"
In the comics, the Outsiders are a team of metahuman superheroes who were founded by Batman, and the original line-up consisted of Black Lightning, alongside the likes of Geo-Force, Halo and Katana.
There was an Easter egg to the Outsiders back in season one, and while he didn't mention them by name, Cress Williams hinted that season three will see the world of the show "getting bigger".
"We're gonna get more villains and more metas, and we're gonna need more metas as well. I think we're gonna need more heroes," he explained.
"What I mean heroes, they may have meta powers and just decide to fight on our side so they're heroes, not necessarily career heroes. I think we're gonna need some help."
Well that sure sounds like the Outsiders to us...
Black Lightning returns to The CW in the US on October 21, and will be returning to Netflix in the UK on October 22.
