Blake Griffin has arthroscopic surgery on ailing knee

Blake Griffin’s ailing left knee was enough to keep him out of the first two games of the Detroit Pistons’ playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Now that Detroit’s season is over, he’s having surgery.

The Pistons announced on Wednesday that Griffin underwent an arthroscopic procedure in Los Angeles to address the lingering knee pain that plagued him late in the season and early in the playoffs.

The Pistons noted that Griffin is not expected to miss “any planned offseason training or preparation.”

The Pistons’ season ended Monday when the top-seeded Bucks completed an opening-round sweep of their rivals.
