Block.one, the company behind EOS blockchain, may be looking to influence blockchain policy conversations in the U.S. The company is cited as the client of lobbying firm Holland & Knight, LLP in a disclosure document filed in May.

The form cited the code FIN as the general lobbying issue, indicating financial institutions, investments and securities as the firm's areas of interest.

A source told The Block that Scott D. Mason is one of the lead lobbyists for Block.one. Prior to his work at Holland & Knight, Mason worked extensively for the Trump administration, where he served as director of congressional relations, focusing on securing congressional endorsements for President Trump and drumming up congressional support for the president and policy.

Mason is a senior policy advisor for Holland & Knight, and has spoken on policy surrounding the use and regulation of blockchain.
