If you’re at all familiar with Cristiano Ronaldo, you’re familiar with his physical perfection. You’re also probably aware that he is acutely concerned with that perfection at all times.

So much so that, after sustaining a bad cut to his absurdly pretty face during Sunday’s game against Deportivo La Coruna, the Real Madrid star enlisted the help of a mobile phone as he walked off the field:

Ronaldo had suffered the injury while scoring the sixth goal of Real Madrid’s 7-1 rout. It was his second of the game. He took a boot to the face while heading the ball past the Deportivo keeper:

He was then attended to by the Real Madrid medical staff on the field. As he walked off it, he cleaned the blood off his face. Then he appeared to ask the team’s physio for his mobile phone to check out how much damage had been done:

Ronaldo is having the worst season of his career. It began with a five-game suspension for taking his shirt off, diving, then shoving a referee. It has continued without many goals.

And now the Portuguese megastar has lost his second-most important quality, his beauty, as well.

But that’s only temporary. And as long as his abs are fine, Ronaldo should be fine.
