The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 17 cents per share.
The meal-kit seller posted revenue of $140.7 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $139.9 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $122.1 million, or 63 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $667.6 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $1.41. A year ago, they were trading at $3.05.
