WILTON, Conn. (AP) _ Blue Buffalo Pet Products Inc. (BUFF) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $34.8 million.
On a per-share basis, the Wilton, Connecticut-based company said it had profit of 17 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 18 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 18 cents per share.
The pet food maker posted revenue of $295.1 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $293.4 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $130.2 million, or 65 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $1.15 billion.
Blue Buffalo expects full-year earnings in the range of 91 cents to 94 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $1.24 billion to $1.27 billion.
Blue Buffalo shares have increased almost 2 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $24.44, an increase of 34 percent in the last 12 months.
