Blue Ivy Bids $19,000 on a Piece of Art and Becomes an Internet Hero Once More

The 6-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z made her bid during Saturday night’s second annual Wearable Art Gala.

Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy took a family trip to the 2nd Annual Wearable Art Gala last night, and naturally, Blue Ivy stole the show. During the auction, a clearly excited Blue bid $19,000 on a piece that caught her eye, much to the Internet's amusement. At one point, Blue Ivy even attempted to outbid herself. A sheepish Jay-Z tried to confiscate his daughters paddle, while the auctioneer affectionately told Blue, "Baby, you don't need to bid again, you don't need to bid against yourself!"

It turns out the 6-year-old art aficionado's purchase was all for a good cause. The event—which took place at Los Angeles' Alexandria Ballrooms—was organised by Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles Lawson, and her step-dad, Richard Lawson. With the theme of the night being “From WACO to Wakanda,” fittingly, Beyoncé and Blue Ivy dazzled in futuristic gold dresses and co-ordinating crowns, while Jay-Z kept things classic in a black suit.

Blue Ivy's bold bid was a move very reminiscent of January's Grammy awards, where the 6-year-old created a viral moment by elegantly silencing her music mogul parents. Cementing her status as the only person on the planet who can override Beyoncé and Jay-Z, this time Blue Ivy is here to teach them a thing or two about art.
