Is Astra Microwave Products (NSE:ASTRAMICRO) A Risky Investment?

Debt assists a business until the business has trouble paying it off, either with new capital or with free cash flow. Part and parcel of capitalism is the process of 'creative destruction' where failed businesses are mercilessly liquidated by their bankers. However, a more usual (but still expensive) situation is where a company must dilute shareholders at a cheap share price simply to get debt under control.

Is Luckin Coffee (NASDAQ:LK) A Risky Investment?

The external fund manager backed by Berkshire Hathaway's Charlie Munger, Li Lu, makes no bones about it when he says 'The biggest investment risk is not the volatility of prices, but whether you will suffer a permanent loss of capital. It's only natural to consider a company's balance sheet when you examine how risky it is, since debt is often involved when a business collapses. Importantly, Luckin Coffee Inc. (NASDAQ:LK) does carry debt.

Ford bets on an electric Mustang to charge its turnaround

The Mustang Mach E electric sport utility vehicle Ford Motor Co unveiled in Los Angeles on Sunday is more than another car for the storied automaker. The Mach E has become within Ford a high-profile test for a restructuring that has been marred by profit warnings, costly quality problems and the troubled launch this year of another important vehicle, the Ford Explorer sport utility. For Chief Executive Jim Hackett, the Mach E's aggressive design and futuristic interior represent a long-awaited, visible sign of the overhaul of the company's product creation process he has tried to explain to skeptical Wall Street analysts for the past two years.

These Stocks Could Bounce High in January and Beyond

Energy stocks, and to a lesser extent bank stocks, have been the market's whipping boys in 2019. In the fall frenzy of tax-loss selling, certain stocks are often pushed below their intrinsic value, and that is happening now, I believe. Come the new year, I expect stocks such as Concho Resources Inc., Green Dot Corp. and Cooper-Standard Holdings Inc. to benefit from the "January bounce" that often buoys up the previous year's losers.

Trump Says He’s ‘Strongly’ Considering Impeachment Testimony

Donald Trump said Monday that he's “strongly considering” testifying in his own impeachment inquiry, complimenting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the idea in a tweet after again insulting her and congressional Democrats for pursuing his removal from office. Trump indicated that he thinks his testimony -- possibly in writing -- would be a way to resolve the inquiry and get Congress focused on issues he'd like to advance before his 2020 re-election campaign, including a new North American trade deal and drug prices. Trump suggested during Robert Mueller's probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election that he would testify to the special counsel.
