Nick Gordon, the former boyfriend of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown, is in hot water yet again. The 29-year-old was arrested for the second time in two weeks on Monday, this time for violating a no-contact order that forbade him from seeing his girlfriend, 26-year-old Laura Leal.

As it turns out, the couple has a history of sketchy incidents on their romantic résumé.

Gordon had already been arrested for a domestic battery charge against Leal on March 10 after he allegedly punched her and pulled her hair. The judge ordered the two to stay apart, and Gordon was set to appear in court on April 6.

That order was still in effect when police apparently received an anonymous tip from a relative, saying the pair were together. The relative allegedly wished to stay anonymous due to family plans for a future intervention urging Leal to stay away from Gordon, whom they consider to be a dangerous acquaintance.

However, Gordon told responding officers that he was merely asleep when his girlfriend entered his Winter Park, Fla., home using a door code and that she was “just hanging out with him” in his bedroom.

Leal agreed with that statement, telling police that she came by his house to see him and was not afraid for her safety.

This isn’t the first time Leal has stood up for Gordon. Following the March 10 arrest, she asked for the no-contact order to be lifted, blaming the violent incident on her own mental health issues.

She also dropped charges after another police report filed last June alleged domestic battery and false imprisonment charges against Gordon.

As for this incident, Gordon ended up with a conditional release violation, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

Gordon first gained notoriety following the 2015 death of his then-girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. In January of that year, Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub full of water in her Georgia home. She spent six months in a coma and died and she was taken off life support. Gordon was found civilly liable in a wrongful death case and was ordered to pay $36 million to Brown’s estate.
