Bolawrap 100 Wins a 2018 ''Best Of What's New'' Award by Popular Science

One of Ten Innovations in the Security Category

LAS VEGAS, NV / ACCESSWIRE / November 28, 2018 / Wrap Technologies, Inc. (the "Company") (WRTC), an innovator of modern policing solutions, announced today that their first product, the BolaWrap 100, has been selected as one of the top 100 innovations of 2018 by Popular Science.

"The 'Best of What's New Awards' allow us the chance to examine and honor the best innovations of the year," says Popular Science Editor-in-Chief Joe Brown. "This collection shapes our future, helps us be more efficient, keeps us healthy and safe, and lets us have some fun along the way. From simple household items to massive space-exploration tools, we're proud to bring you the Best of What's New 2018."

The winners are divided into select categories. BolaWrap 100 was one of ten innovations selected and featured in the 'Security' category.

Popular Science writes, "An automatic lasso: when police need to stop a suspect, they reach for electrified Tasers or resort to tackling. BolaWrap is a nonlethal and non-injuring tool to snare potential perps. The handheld device, based on the throwing weapon slung by South American gauchos, shoots an 7.7-foot-long Kevlar tether anywhere from 10 to 25 feet. The whip wraps around a suspect's legs two to three times--depending on their size--and two barbed pellets anchor themselves to clothing. Cops can load a new cartridge in seconds."

Elwood "Woody" Norris, CTO of Wrap Technologies and inventor of the BolaWrap 100, holds more than 80 patents and is a nationally recognized and award winning inventor. "I am honored to be recognized by Popular Science with the prestigious Best of What's New award. I am blessed to have been able to invent products like the BolaWrap and others, that largely impact the safety and security of our great nation," commented Mr. Norris.
