SAO PAULO, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Brazil's power regulator Aneel has approved an auction for transmission lines expected to take place on Dec. 19 and to generate to 4.18 billion reais ($1 billion) in investments, the agency said on Tuesday.
The auction includes 12 lots with 17 transmission lines and 16 substations, in projects covering 12 Brazilian states, Aneel added.
"There have been 20 years of very successful auctions for transmission lines. Historically, we have had large participation of bidders from various countries," Aneel's director Rodrigo Limp said in a statement.
